Our Founder
Samantha Lau
PMHNP-BC, FNP
I am a board-certified nurse practitioner with dual advanced training in psychiatry and family medicine. I’m also the founder of ELEVATEHER®, a personalized mental health care dedicated to helping women and individuals assigned female at birth reconnect with their full and vibrant selves. My approach is trauma-informed, hormone-informed, and psychedelic-informed integrating psychiatry, hormones, and consciousness work to support deep and lasting healing.
With over 15 years of clinical experience, I provide individualized psychiatric care, ketamine-assisted therapy, and group retreats. I specialize in treating PTSD, perimenopausal transitions, and the mind-body-spirit connection. As a certified psychedelic therapy provider and medical lead for ketamine retreats, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing profound transformations when science, safety, and soul converge.
I have advanced training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy through Polaris Insights Center and hold a year- long certification in MDMA- and psilocybin- assisted psychotherapy through the Integrative Psychiatric Institute in collaboration with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies.) I am also part of the inaugural Women’s Health and Precision Medicine Fellowship with Dr. Sara Szal, MD – one of the nations’s leading scientists in women’s mental health and precision medicine. This fellowship deepens my expertise in complex interplay of hormones, metabolism, and mood.
Beyond my clinical practice, I serve as a principal at Big Tent Ketamine, an educational platform for clinicians and sit on the Steering Committees for national conferences including Psych Congress, Psych Congress Elevate, and the NP Institute. Trained at UCLA and Johns Hopkins, I bring a grounded integrative, and collaborative approach to care – centered on presence, partnership, and possibility.
Early in my career, I worked to influence health policy by advocating for the integration of psychiatric care into primary care settings. Prior to Landmark Health, I was a mental health care specialist, a manager of nurse practitioners, and a mentor at CareMore Health, Anthem Inc. I developed psychopharmacology tools and disease management guides to support primary care providers in delivering mental health care.
Outside of clinical work, I’ve always been drawn to the inquiry of higher consciousness – how we relate to ourselves, each other, and the world through the lens of human body. I hold a deep curiosity for this exploration, weaving together scientific investigation with philosophical and spiritual understanding. This devotion informs both my practice and my path, helping me meet patient with presence, respect, and a shared sense of discovery.

I am a licensed, dual board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, ketamine and psychedelic psychotherapy provider, and founder of ELEVATEHER®, a concierge mental health care practice that provides result-driven psychiatric care and transformation for women who are ready to unveil their vulnerable-badass selves to feel better, work better, and love better.
With more than 15 years of experience in psychiatry, I serve as Steering Committee Member and key opinion leader to Psych Congress, Psych Congress Elevate and Psych Congress NP Institute – nationally renowned medical conferences, providing cutting-edge research and clinical application to mental health professionals across the country. I am proud to be part these important conferences, as we collectively work to improve patient care and build world-class mental health care systems in the United States.
I worked as West Coast manager and psychiatric nurse practitioner at Landmark Health, enhancing collaboration between physical and behavioral healthcare. I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles and completed my post-graduate psychiatric nurse practitioner program and psychotherapy training at Johns Hopkins University. I am certified in family medicine and psychiatry, and received a full scope of rigorous ketamine psychedelic assisted psychotherapy training at the Polaris Insight Center. I have completed the year-long MDMA and psilocybin assisted psychotherapy certification training at Integrative Psychiatric Institute in collaboration with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies).
Early in my career, I worked to influence health policy, with the goal of integrating psychiatric care into primary care. Prior to Landmark Health, I was an accomplished mental health care specialist, a manager of nurse practitioners, and a mentor at CareMore Health, Anthem Inc. I developed the guide for psychopharmacology and disease management, and a tool for primary care practitioners to support patients with mental health needs. It gives me as much satisfaction to educate the public and help the future workforce in psychiatry as it does to help each and every one of my inspiring patients.
Our Collaborators
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is most powerful when it is experienced, in-person with an expertly trained and well-practiced therapist. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy starts with a psychiatric evaluation and careful dosing determination. This is then followed by what we’ve coined as the Preparation, Journey, and Integration.
A minimum of one Preparation session evaluates for psychological safety and creates space for intention setting.
Your Journey session with ketamine is guided by a trusted and expertly trainted therapist, based on your personal trauma experience, safety parameters, and intentions for healing.
The Integration session, conducted within the safety and privacy of your therapist’s space, unpacks the learnings from your ketamine journey and begins the deep work of integrating these findings into actionable change in your daily life.
For California residents, ElevateHER is headquartered in Santa Barbara, and we also have collaborative therapists in San Francisco, Noe Valley, Berkeley, Petaluma, Sacramento, Oakland, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, and Westlake Village. For Oregon residents, we have collaborative therapists in Albany, and more to come! Virtual ketamine assisted psychotherapy is also available and we may be able to collaborate with your current therapist.
Please call us to discuss the best option for you on ketamine assisted psychotherapy.
*The therapists listed below have done extensive training in ketamine assisted psychotherapy from reputable training institutes, and they have rich knowledge in how to help people heal in the expanded states of consciousness. They operate independently under their own LLCs and licenses. We do not have any financial relationship. They have been trusted collaborators with ELEVATEHER® Concierge Psychiatry & Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Practice to deliver deep healing experiences to people.
